Wesley Sneijder is a Dutch footballer who is an attacking midfielder and is known for his passes, shots and set pieces. He was named UEFA midfielder for the 2009/10 season and one of the 3 best midfielders in the world for 2010 by FIFA.
Sneijder went through the Ajax youth academy and made his senior debut in 2003. In 5 seasons with Ajax he won the 2003/04 league title and 2 KNVB Cups. He made his UEFA Champions League debut during the 2005/06 season and helped Ajax qualify for the knockout stage.
In 2003 at the age of 18, Sneijder made his debut in the Dutch national team. He represented the Netherlands at 3 European Championships (2004, 2008, 2012) and 3 World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014). He excelled in the 2010 World Cup where he was awarded the Silver Ball (runner-up best player) and Bronze Boot (3rd highest goal scorer).
