The KNVB Cup is a knock-out competition organized by the national football association KNVB. Started in 1898, it is also known as the Dutch Cup.
Since 1988/89, the final is played at Stadion Feijenoord. The 2009/10 final was played over 2 legs as Ajax supporters were banned from Kuip. This was the first two-leg final since the 1982/83 KNVB Cup Final.
The KNVB Cup winner qualifies for the following season's UEFA Europa League. They also participate in the traditional season opening, the Dutch Super Cup (Johan Cruijff Shield).
