- The 6th, 7th, 8th place teams from the Eerste Divisie and the winner of the second period title enter in the 1st round
- The 16th and 17th place teams from the Eredivisie enter in the 2nd round along with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place teams from the Eerste Divisie
